Welcome to Black Lagoon
This site, which opened in July of 2005, is graciously hosted by
Shane. It is home to my artwork, which consists of many fandoms, a variety of movies, and celebrities. It also houses goodies made for other artists and visitors to enjoy, such as icons, textures and gradients.
For your enjoyment and other's, please
DO NOT alter, repost, or edit my artwork in any way. It is for personal use only. Also, do not direct link, otherwise known as hotlinking, to anything on this site, for it is alway the misgivings of a few that ruin it for the whole.
Furthermore, all content was created by me, using Photoshop 7 and the wonderful resources of other artists. For credits on all resources I use for this site, please refer to the above links.
Well, that's the schpeel. I hope you will have a look around and hopefully you'll find something here that you will enjoy. And feel free to check back often. You never know when something new will pop out of the wood work!!
Updates
July 21, 2008
Okay, to begin, I thought I would go ahead and announce my new
Site of the Month for August, it's a bit early I know, but the next couple weeks are looking a little busy for me and I am not sure how often I will be able to update. Anyways, congratulations to
Everglow for being this (up coming) Month's pick. Also, I would like to thank
Caterina @
Immortal Heart for the lovely award she presented to me for my graphics! Thank you so much!! Now, without further shanningans...new art, just like I promised!
New Art:
My Protectors-So, this piece is the one the layout is based off of, and major thanks again to Everglow for this wonderful HQ scan! I loved this image and was so bummed to only find LQ stuff, and imagine my delight when I saw this! Anyways, I don't know if I like the text, but overall very pleased with it.
Theory-This piece comes with a little sadness as it was my final piece in my battle with Dan. I had so much fun, it's sad that it's over, but on the brighter side, I finally had the inspiration to make this piece. Something I've been wanting to do for a while. I really wanted it to be just her and her thoughts in the piece as she desperately doesn't want to admitt these ideas to Edward, she feels like such and idiot for thinking them. And yet, she also knows very well that he is something. It's a very interesting time in their relationship and I wanted to capture how she sees him, as a superhero.

Okay, just a quick update with a new layout! Actually, this layout is piece of a new Twilight wall that I am working on, but haven't quite finished yet, which sort of amuses me :). Anyways, I didn't actually get around to completely recoding the site, I've been entirely too busy (and too lazy!) to actually take it back to bare bones. I hope you like this layout regardless because it's Edward, Bella and Jacob!! How could you not?! No new art or anything at the moment, but I hope to have more in that department soon!

Wow! It's been a while since my last update! Who knew. Anyways, nothing really to add except for some new art. Hope you enjoy!
New Art:
Oddly Peaceful-Okay, I've been wanting to do something like this for a while. I would rather have had her not wearing a dress, but somehow, though it isn't true to the story, it just seems to work with the text. It's of course featuring Bella after she jumps off the cliff, and yes, I know it was for hallucinational/recreational purposes, but when she gives up, it's so peaceful for her. She has no problem accepting it, and I sort of wanted to go along those lines. I actually chose not to include Edward in this piece, even as a shimmer of her hallucination, because it was her decision to stop trying to find the surface. She was content, listening to his voice, the last part of him she had, going under. And that's really what I wanted and I was very happy to see that the piece did come out rather serene!
Join Us-A piece made for a challenge at Buffy Forums, featuring the movie 'The Lost Boys'. In this scene the coven is trying to show Michael what they are, what they have to do to remain immortal and his horror. Pretty dark and simple.
**Contain excerpts from The Host that could be spoilery.**
Guilt-Another 'The Host' piece, featuring Wanderer/Melanie and Ian. In this part of the book, Ian is starting to realize that just because Wanderer is a parasite doesn't mean that she doesn't feel. (In large part to her host species) Anyways, he starts to see the monster in himself after trying to kill her, seeing her bruises and cuts, all the things that humans had done to her. Really a great moment! Though my piece didn't exactly turn out as I would have liked. It's a little too dark, but that actually kinda works though. It just feels a little empty, but I really wanted to get in the cave atmosphere and how dark it was where they kept her. She basically...well, actually...was thrown into a hole. It was sad. I sort of wanted to show how alone she was and how Ian was the first of her hostile captures to really consider her as more then a thing.
Sad Man-Okay, so I've been wanting to make a Jamie/Wanderer/Mel piece! I really love how Jamie seems to be the only one who really understands the difference, and really does seem to seperate the two. Anyways, this piece is from when he fist sees Melanie's body as a host to Wanderer and their reaction to how his face has changed since Mel has been gone. I really loved this quote :).
